Usar a energia solar produzida na Lua tem ainda a vantagem de não depender do fator meteorológico: lá nunca estará nublado!
O “Luna Ring” irá cobrir todo o equador da Lua. Serão quase 11 mil quilômetros de comprimento, por até 400 quilômetros de largura, garantindo que se produza energia o tempo todo. A luz captada pelos painéis solares chegará às gigantescas antenas de transmissão (20 quilômetros de diâmetro!) para serem enviadas a receptores instalados em vários pontos na Terra através de raio laser e micro-ondas.
